There’s no such a thing as a defined age for when you can start having sex – it’s different for every person.

But you should ask yourself some questions before engaging in sexual relations:

  • Why do I want to do it?
  • Am I ready to be responsible for all the things that come together with having such relations, such as possible pregnancy, diseases?
  • Do I really want to do it with this specific person and why? Do I know him/her well enough?

If you can answer these questions without hesitation, easily and positively then you’re ready to have sexual relations.

Nevertheless, remember that having early sex for girls can bring higher risk for several diseases (like STDs, cervical cancer in the future). This can happen because the natural resistant against viruses and bacteria hasn’t yet developed enough in girl’s uterus and vagina.

And, of course, it is a decision that you must make yourself, not because of others. The most important thing is to be absolutely sure that you’re ready and that it’s what you wish for.
