Children, starting from the age of about two, ask a lot of different questions and it is important to give answers to them. Both talking and explaining things are necessary to raise the self-esteem and confidence of your child, to give knowledge about his body and to develop the skill to create relationships with other people. If you don’t talk to your child, he’ll look for answers elsewhere leading to possible misunderstandings. Many parents feel uncomfortable and embarrassed when talking to their kids about sensitive subjects but it is better to start at early age. In that way it will be much easier to talk about it later when they become older.

Children need help to:

  • become aware of their bodies;
  • develop a sense of self-worth;
  • protect themselves;
  • learn to respect differences;
  • cope with changing feelings and relationships.
